Two

That's how many degrees it is outside right now. Two. 2. As in 1+1 or 2 divided by 1. Or 2+0.

Nooooo, not 20, not twenty...Twenty MINUS eighteen...TWO.

Add in the wind chill factor and it "feels" like -16 degrees. (As if you can "feel" anything that is that cold. That's utter numbness!) That's a minus sixteen, kids. Negative number 16. That's waaaay less than zero. It's sixteen whole numbers less than ZERO.

As you can probably imagine, I am not happy. Not one little tiny eensy-beensy itty-bitty bit.

Winter is one thing. Snow is certainly bad enough, but this? This is utter bullsh*t. I don't know anyone here who is like "Oh, boy! It's going to be so cold that we risk frostbite if we go outside for 10 minutes with unprotected skin!"

"Yaaay! How fun! I just love when it's so cold outside it actually HURTS!"

"Don't you wish it could be like this all the time?"

No, NO one says that. Not a one. If I wanted to live like this, I'd move to friggin Canada, okay? This is NOT okay. NOT.

Of course, there is one member of the household who is COMPLETELY oblivious to this cold...Guess who??? Let's see - I'll give you 4 guesses but the first 3 do not count...
That's right!! How'd you know?

Sadie loves it outside! She begs to go out every 20 minutes or so. She goes out there, stomps around for a while, lays down in the snow, eats it - sometimes falls fast asleep in it...She'll stay out there for an hour before I make her come in sometimes! Today, of course, I would not let her stay out very long. Even though she has the densest fur you can possibly imagine, I worry about her nose, ears and paws. She would let them fall off and still be a happy little camper. Complete oblivion to reality does have its perks!

Anywho, it's really cold out and I have to take the kids for their walk and I'm NOT looking forward to it. There is just no getting warm in this type of cold. It's evil.

Lookit the house next door:

Those icicles grew overnight!!

I've got me a somewhat busy week this week - have a couple appointments with a client, am supposed to do a decorating job and then I realized last night that our vacation is a mere 12 days away!! ACK!!

Well, I must run...Hope you all had a good weekend!

Happy Monday! Sure hope it's warmer where you are!

BRRRRR!

  1. If I had to live in that, I would bundle under all of my blankets all day long and I would cry. That's all I would do. I'm miserable here in my 40 degree weather. I can't wait for warmer weather which here in Florida, the heat should arrive any day.

And so Sadie is your dog with dementia? she sure is beautiful. I had no idea dogs could even get that.

  2. Joann - that basically describes my frame of mind right now. I'd lov eto just get under the blankets and cry all day. It's disgusting. We got another 8 inches or so last night. It's ridiculous. This winter is just never-ending. Phooey!

  3. While reading this post I saw your little fishies off to the side and "fed" them. Something that simple ought not to be that fun. It was only through supreme force of will that I didn't just sit there for an hour feeding cyberfishies. It's cool!
