Luckily nothing bad with the dogs - knock wood - it's been me. I've been having a rough time of it dealing with all of the stress of what happened to Koty. Nothing too terrible has happened to me - just lots of crying fits and I was having some terrible flashbacks and bouts of insomnia.
Due to the lack of sleep, I managed to get sick. Again, nothing too terrible, but there is something amiss with my tonsils and the lymph nodes in my throat are so swollen they hurt. Add to that, the overwhelming feeling of exhaustion and that about sums it up. I slept for 12 hours Sunday night, got up Monday, managed to stay awake for a grand total of 1 1/2 hours and then went right back to bed and slept for almost 3 more hours. Slept another 12 hours last night. Tired much?
So, I'm headed to the doctor in about 1/2 an hour. I just want to make sure it's not strep or pneumonia, both of which have been going around these parts. One does not fool around with either of those illnesses.
In floral news, I do have some crocuses in bloom, but it's too darn cold out there today to go take pictures. There are also loads of other bulbs coming up here and there.
My talk for the Wilmington Garden Club went well last Thursday evening. The ladies were sort of a sedate bunch, but seemed to enjoy my talk and demonstrations. I did up two pretty planters for them to raffle off and then had LOADS of leftover plants that I have been enjoying immensely! I made up a few things from the leftover plants and have them here and there in the house.
Two pretty combinations waiting for it to get warm enough to sit on our back stoop:
Here are little guys that broke off:
Pretty primrose that is so unusual with its double-frilly petals:
And then these two arrangements sit next to each other:
So, that's about it for today. I'm feeling really, really tired and I have to find the energy to get dressed and then drive to my doctor's office. A seemingly insurmountable task right now!
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Later.

Feel better! Love the cute little shamrocks. They make great fill ins for the planters.
ReplyDeleteHi Duffylou!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe what June is going through over there at BBP. So much for her to think about.
Thanks for your comment. I hope I feel better soon!
And I also adore those little shamrock plants! They're so adorable!
I hope you feel better very soon, Lisa. Thinking of you and Koty.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your sweet thoughts!
ReplyDeleteWe are both going to be just fine!
I hope the doctor found whatever is going on with you and you get to feeling better soon! Sending you some Texas sunshine to warm you up.
ReplyDeleteSandra - thanks for the well wishes. Looks like some sort of icky virus. It wasn't strep, so I'm thankful for that!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the sunshine! Keep sending it our way!
