Well, I'm back home, Dallas has forgiven my trespasses (he was decidedly unhappy about my travels), I'm tired, happy and am looking forward to the new year and all it has to offer!
A new job at the House of the Seven Gables awaits me next week - I start on Monday, my gardening business feels quite promising as 2011 was a fantastic year for me, I've got loads of great plans for a cook book and a new venture creating savory foods to be sold at a new bakery opening here in my home town!
I'm really excited for all the prospects that 2012 seems to be offering!
I've got a lot to be thankful for and a lot that will still need to happen as life unfolds. I have not talked about it on here and will not be divulging any details, but my husband and I separated in November and it has been a difficult, but necessary step for both of us to be happier. We are still good friends, and we love and respect each other. It just needed to happen. And that's all I'm going to say about that subject.
On a lighter note, I had a blast with my family in Georgia over Christmastime and then had another blast with my friend, June, of Bye, Bye Pie fame.
I found this little gem on Facebook earlier...Made me giggle:

Hope you are all well & have a fantastic 2012!
Ciao for now!

You sound at peace with this cross road in your life.
ReplyDeleteExcited for your plans and glad that you are making your mark with hope in your heart and not looking backwards, but on what lies ahead.
Give the year 2012 HELL!
(((hugs)))Pat
Hi, Pal! I stopped in. Don't tell June!
ReplyDeletePeter! What up? Where do you live? What's your scoop? Your comments are very funny over there at BBP! How did you find it?
ReplyDeleteHi, Pal! Guess I got approved by the blog gods. You DO know you have to go through an approval process to get posted here. It is SOOOOOOO MUCH more discriminating than that BBP blog. June lets anyone get on there and blather, blather, blather. I should know.
ReplyDeleteHere, before I could enter your archives with my little "Hi," I had to answer, like, 30 questions on quantum mechanics or particle physics. I can never keep those two straight. Of course I guessed on all of them. Still got approved. What d'ya know?
As to your queries, which I have been studiously avoiding (or didn't you notice), let me say this. Were I to reveal the whys and wherefores of my existence, I would lose the aura of mystery that swirls about me on BBP. Did Paula and I actually date when we were younger and growing up in New York? Did I teach Mesoamerican history at an Ivy League college? Am I married to MRS. Peter or not? Or am I just a guy with too much time on his hands, sitting here in front of a computer screen at the public library following his release from the county psychiatric facility? Okay, that's kind of creepy. But it is so much more fun not knowing, don't you think?
On a serious note, I love your blog! I didn't realize you and June have been following the same path over the past year. I'm very, very sorry to hear that. But I'm glad that the two of you are friends and were able to spend part of the holidays together. I know she needed it and suspect you did too.
And, by the way, I meant what I said. You rock! Glasses or not. Don't ever let a man's stupidity get in the way of knowing that!
Oh, boy. Now I'm officially going to be curious about you Peter! You're smart AND funny! My favorite combination!
ReplyDeleteIs it possible you're good looking too? Or is that too much to ask.
You're probably 30 years old and waaay to young for me anyway!
And, you will learn that I'm unrelenting in my curiosity, so I will not stop asking questions! How old are you? Where do you live? Do you have a Mrs? If you do, I will stop flirting here and now!
I love that you said I rock! I have not heard that in quite some time (until recently - now the boys are lining up!! LOL!!)...Most appreciated!
Do you know the book, Godel, Escher and Bach? It may help with your confusion regarding quantum mechanics vs. particle physics! I was a zoology major, so you're barking up my proverbial tree with talk of math and physics! : ) hee!
Shakespeare said it best, but didn't he always?
ReplyDelete"At the length, truth will out."
While we're talking books, you should check out "The Language of Flowers" by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. It's a bit too much chick lit for my taste, but for someone like you who loves plants it might be right up your garden path.
ReplyDeleteNot another 30 questions! I am being bombarded by advanced physics queries as a precondition to posting. My mind is turning to mush (and there wasn't much there to being with).
ReplyDelete"Culls out the riff-raff," you say.
You got that right!
Ok, Pedro...Enough with this public flirtation. Will you email me?
ReplyDeletelifewithflowers@gmail.com
And, just fyi? "The Language of Flowers" is on my coffee table right now! It was a Christmas present from a friend and it's next in line to be read! hee!
That would give it all away. As Dana Carvey loved to mimic George H.W. Bush, "Wouldn't be prudent."
ReplyDeleteBut I'll cop to the following since you could easily trace my comments on BBP back to my very first post. My wife has been a loyal Pie follower (and rare poster) for years and forced me (at the point of a pencil!) to comment on one of June's posts back in November because she felt the blog needed another and a different male perspective. I've since been utterly sucked into June's world (haven't we all?) and slowly gotten to know all her zany friends, you included. My wife keeps her eye on my antics and freely criticizes my posts when I go off the rails (as I do, more often than not).
I thought you were so damned cute and adorable in the picture that June took and posted that I got a pass to comment, and I stand by it. As men are apt to say, "I may be married, but I'm not blind." (Shakespeare, doubtless, said it better).
And yes, I am sorry to admit, I am also devilishly handsome.
Okay, that may or may not be true. Should we one day meet at a BBP Convention I will let you judge. Now that I know where you spend the other part of your day, I will be a regular visitor.
Yikes. You have taken the flirting thing to a whole new level!!
ReplyDeleteSo, will you answer just ONE question? Where in the country to you live? South, Northeast, California??? Just a state will do - and I can actually look it up on my sitemeter, but I'm being lazy!! : )
Glad you like my silly blog and think that I'm cute!
Good morning, Pal! You ARE a curious one. I didn't realize that my every move is being tracked by some kind of GPS overlord. Wowzer! In any case, I live in Northern California though I was born in Boston. So, there. Two answers to one question (because you ARE so adorable, you get a freebie).
