As we got onto the plane, we noticed there was one area toward the front that remained empty, and we thought we'd hit the jackpot...Well, it turns out that no one wanted to sit there because there was a fellow (and I use that term very loosely) who apparently had not showered since before the millenium. Either that or he was possibly allergic to water. Or smuggling dead animal carcasses in his pockets. HOLY body odor. It was palpable; like a skunk that had recently sprayed or decomposed. He stunk, my friends. REALLY, really, REALLY badly.
In any case, this plane from hell FINALLY delivered us to Seville. Seville is faaaantastic. It's beautiful in every way. From the food to the people to the gardens to the sites and climate; it is just wonderful! My husband spent a semester there in college and knew where to go and what to do, so that was really great.
We stayed at a gorgeous old hotel called Hotel las Casas de la Juderia, that was sort of like a maze. You would go down a corridor and then it would open up into a lovely courtyard, then another corridor and then aNOTHER gorgeous courtyard with a fountain, a corridor, a courtyard and on and on it went! This indoor-outdoor type of building is the norm in Spain and I just LOVE it! The plantings are always lush and plentiful in the courtyards and it just creates the nicest feeling...Here are some photos from just one quick walk through the hotel:
Isn't it just lovely?
Here was the courtyard where our rooms were situated:
And this is the outside of the hotel:
More to follow in Seville...We saw many wonderful places and ate many wonderful things while we were there!
Happy Sunday & GO Celtics! (Only meaningful if you are into basketball!)
